There’s much work to be done to improve the education system in Côte d’Ivoire. In the video vignette below, cocoa farmer Ambofe Eric Didier discusses some of the obstacles that make it difficult for families to provide their kids with a proper education. Schools are far away, requiring kids to trek several kilometers multiple times a day to and from school, and they lack basic resources like cafeterias.
But Ambofe is full of ideas for how to improve schools in the region, and how to improve the welfare of children throughout Côte d’Ivoire. Ambofe is intelligent and eloquent, and he shows that the people of Côte d’Ivoire have both the desire and the know-how to make big strides forward in their education system. We share his commitment to ensuring a quality education for the children of Côte d’Ivoire and to making sure their health and nutritional needs are cared for.
