The Vision for Change (V4C) team joins the rest of the world in congratulating Mr. Kailash Satyarthi, who was recently declared a co-winner of the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize, for this great lifetime achievement.

It was with great and pleasant surprise we heard that the pro-children’s education activist was announced the 2014 Nobel Laureate.  In February 2013, Kailash visited cocoa farming communities in Soubré, Côte d’Ivoire, where the V4C project is actively involved in constructing classrooms, erecting canteens, and promoting school enrollment to enhance education for children. The Nobel Prize Winner commended the commitment of V4C and its partners in their attempts to address these concerns. During his visit, he also met rural women groups and expressed satisfaction in seeing that the communities’ lives improved through the interventions of V4C project. “I want all your children to have access to education for a brighter future,” he said to the cocoa farmers.

V4C is a non-governmental funded project by MARS Inc. and implemented by the World Agroforestry Centre. The partners of V4C include the Conseil Café Cacao and the World Cocoa Foundation.
